India has faster recent economic growth, a better science and technology panorama. India is truly one of the most diverse nations in the world. It's quite more equal than Brazil and it has much lower crime rates on average. India also has a stronger military.

If you're rich, you'd be pretty much okay in any of them both, but in India you'd have less worries about crime. If you're poor, you definitely want Brazil, especially if you intend on living on a smaller town. If you want cultural adventure, India is the place to be - Brazil would be an intriguing twist on familiar settings. If you want a longer and healthier life, chances are you'd be better off in Brazil, but if you want a life with better education, India is a good choice. Your government will be slightly better in Brazil, and your private sector slightly better in India. India is more traditionalist and Brazil is more liberal.

I could go on and on, but some country being better than the other is too subjective a thing.

I'm talking by my own experience.

Despite never have gone to India but having an Indian girlfriend, I can say India is a better country.

There are many reasons to say that, but I'll just say the main ones:

The country helps drs and ignore people needing help: Brazil always helps Cuba and Venezuela financially, with the taxes we pay. Instead of invest on education or help unlucky countries, like The Philippines.

It has lost it's culture and identity: Music today here is too teen/obscene, teenagers don't even speak Portuguese, hate politics, worship footballers like Gods and likes to buy expensive stuff without being able to afford it just to have status.

Either you are far left or far right: Yes, Brazilians does not have one eight of knowledge of politics, either you are in favour of Cuban co sm or “masked neoNazism”.

You only are relevant if you are Christian: Hardly anyone who is not Christian and it's not from the western world is on a good condition, or even survives here from religious maniacs.

Economy:

India is the fastest growing country. It is sixth in gdp nominal which is more than that of France and Russia.Very fast it is going to be at fifth by overcoming UK. It is third in gdp ppp after and USA. But it is quite poor in gdp per capita and remains at 116th position.
